The Sector Quilt looks complicated with curved & diagonal seams, but it's easier to make than it looks! Size: make the quilt as big or small as you like, but I would say a minimum of 18 inches square will really start to show off the pattern shapes.

* This is a quilt block rather than a quilt top pattern. It includes all the information needed on how to use the blocks.
* Actual size block templates are also given in the pattern.
* This pattern is for a base quilt block and the variations of it, with quilt layout suggestions of which happily there are many.

Detailed instructions on how to make the Sector Blocks and different layout suggestions are included.
Lots of samples are shown and there are images for every stage.
So, just to reiterate, the final quilt design will be determined by you with the blocks you made & the colours & prints chosen.

Making the base block involves curved edge applique either by hand or machine.
Further block variations will be pieced normally, but because of the initial applique method & the improvisation required, I would rate the skill level for this pattern as: INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED.
So, please note that this is not a beginner level pattern.

It’s a flexible project in that it can be made up to any size – just make more (or less) blocks to achieve the required size. And best of all, this project is FUN, creative & quite challenging.
The best kind of sewing fun in my humble opinion!
