Red and White Checkerboard Patchwork Quilt Pattern

Strawberry Cream Quilt Pattern, an all time favourite made in red and white quilt fabrics!
The finished size is 55” by 80” (140cm x 204cm).

That equals a large size single bed or a twin size bed quilt depending on your location. 
A fabric border could be added to make the quilt larger if required.

Quilt will cover a single or twin bed, the bed in the photos is a large 6ft (180cm) wide bed. 
Instructions are for machine sewing.
 
Fabric Requirements:
13 x 6” by approx. 42” red fabric strips or alternatively 2¼yds (2m) of red fabric
13 x 6” by approx. 42” white tonal fabric strips  or alternatively 2¼yds (2m) of light fabric
29” (75cm) White or white tonal fabrics for setting triangles
24” (60cm) Red fabric for border
20” (50cm) Red & white checks or stripes fabric for binding
Backing fabric: 3½yds (3.2m) with horizontal joining seam or 5yds (4.45m) with vertical joining seam
Batting to fit the size
Piecing thread
Quilting Thread for hand or machine
The usual quilting tools: cutting mat, rotary cutter and quilt ruler.
