Instructions are for machine sewing. 

The sample quilt is made with 16-patch quilt blocks which work very well with a huge variety of fabric choices.
 
Material requirements for the checkerboard quilt:
6 x FQ assorted cream fabrics
6 x FQ assorted blue or dark fabrics 
OR a Jelly Roll of 2½” wide strips for an alternative colour way.
FQ= Fat Quarter is a 1/4yd quilt fabric square approx. 18" by 21" in size.
You will additionally need:
Fabric for binding and backing. 
Batting, and thread for piecing and quilting.
The usual quilting tools: cutting mat, rotary cutter and quilt ruler.
