27” by 40” (65cm by 95cm) of backing fabric
10” (25cm) fabric for double binding 
Total binding needed is 3¼yds (3m) if using ready-made.

Piecing thread
Quilting thread for hand or machine
The usual quilting tools: Cutting mat (the bigger the better), rotary cutter and a quilt rule (the longer the better).
