A morning spent on design
techniques from the book of the same name, shows just how easy it is to
create kaleidoscopic or many sectioned designs, even if you are not
mathematical or artistic. There are a few sewing tricks in there too in the
afternoon, producing a finished machine sewn result that you can be proud
of. The workshop is technique based so that we will not be intending to make an item during the session. However, we will have created designs and sewn samples...in fact gone through everything necessary to enable you to make something worthwhile leisurely at home afterwards. I look forward to meeting you on the day...don’t be at all worried by the term ‘designing’...this is a fabulous result the easy way...low stress and a fun day! |

Absolute Basics - Patchwork for
beginners

This is a beginners' course involving basic machine or hand constructed
quilts. All basic tools & techniques will be covered. You
will construct a cot size quilt or at least start one & you would
have acquired enough knowledge to continue at home, so in other
words this workshop should give you enough
confidence to create a quilt top of your very own! |

Absolute basics continues - Finishing your quilt.
Saturday October 11th, 2008 Fee £25 + VAT = £29.35 | This is a beginners' course involving basic machine or hand constructed quilts. This workshop will assist the quilter with finishing a project they have already started. Includes basting, quilting, adding borders and/or binding. Your project does not need to have been originally created during a class at Tikki. It could maybe be a cushion cover or a bed size quilt you started on your own or somewhere else. So, please join in and get that project finished! |

Secret Squares

With less fabric and lots of fun, these folded and manipulated fabric origami patches remind me of leaded light windows. Quilt that quilts itself
(RC, MP) Quilt the blocks at the same time as piecing them. Then sew together with lattice strips on the back creating a second quilt. The bound quilt is instantly ready to use, or to further enhance with quilting, but no basting necessary. (MC=machine piecing, PC= rotary cutting) |

This group gives you the
chance to get together with friends and other quilters while working on your
choice of patchwork project. Many skills are enjoyed in this group and
expertise is shared and advise & encouragement readily available.
Conversation normally fly as fast as the needles! Ideal for those of you who enjoy working together with other quilters. Or maybe you need a little encouragement to bring your ideas to a conclusion. There will be no teacher running this group, but help is always available in the shop. Tikki has basic sewing machines which you may borrow free of charge if you cannot bring your own. |
