Absolute Basics - Patchwork Quilting class for beginners

This is the prefect way to get involved in quilting or to re-discover it, so please join in!

This is a beginners' class involving basic machine and/or hand constructed quilt techniques. All basic tools & techniques will be covered. You will construct a small quilt or at least start one & you would have acquired enough knowledge to continue at home, so in other words this workshop should give you enough confidence to create a quilt top of your very own!

During this finishing class you will make a small quilt from one piece of fabric (we won’t have time to learn piecing as that step is covered during the absolute basics class). The emphases is on learning to layer the quilt top, wadding and backing, then quilt it and finally bind it.  You will learn to make straight and bias binding and also learn how to attach it to your quilt.

The aim is to give the quilter enough knowledge and confidence to finish their "real" quilt project at home.  Hence we are making practise pieces, as it would be impossible to finish a larger project  during these four hours.
