This is the prefect way to get involved in quilting or to  re-discover it, so please join in!
This is a beginners' class involving basic machine and/or hand constructed quilt techniques. All basic tools & techniques will be covered. You will construct a cot size quilt or at least start one & you would have acquired enough knowledge to continue at home, so in other words this workshop should give you enough confidence to create a quilt top of your very own!

If you need help finishing a project please see the class details on July 25th.  Book for both classes if you can!

Absolute Basics II - Patchwork for beginners

Saturday July 25th, 2009
from 10.30am to 2.30pm

Fee £30

Please click here for the requirements list

Learn how to finish your quilt - small or big and the good news is, it does not have to be ready for this class. We will start with making four quilted placemats.  Topics covered will include: layering your quilt sandwich, gadgets that can help you, machine or hand quilting and making the binding to finish your projects.
Your project does not need to have been originally created during a class at Tikki, it could maybe be a cushion cover or a placemat you started on your own.  The aim is to give the quilter enough knowledge and confidence to finish their project at home if it cannot be achieved during these four hours.  So, please join in and get that project finished!
Hidden Stars - teacher Carolyn Forster

Saturday November 28th, 2009
from 10.00am to 4.00pm

Fee £45

Please book early to secure a place!

The quilt is sewn using some ‘sew then cut’ techniques and easy chain piecing. A great project for building your confidence with rotary cutting and machine piecing. And for those already confident in these areas, a quick quilt with stunning results.
